Evolve Contest Pt 2

I then started to working on trees for the area. I went the very classical way i suppose and keep the trees simple seeing how we are going to need ALOT of trees for a forest. The history behind Avalon was that it was an Isle of apples. So i also started to insert apple trees here and there.

So after doing some norml render shots, i went into mental ray and try making a night scene.

My teammates had other ideas, and wanted to do it in the dusk, dawn type of lighting. My team mate Jeremy worked on the sword with normals to try to get its runes on it.

This is sam's half complete temple from the inside after textured it and zbrush it.

Sadly due to problems we were having, with Jeremy having to much stuff going on with school, Sam working + an internship + school, me starting a new job with alot of hours, we soon fell apart after spring break. It happens, just have to move on and keep working. Hopefully we will come back to this and finish it for our own demo reels, because quite frankly, we could have won first or at least 2nd. The way many things were turning out, our island that we had here:

Sam was going to sculpt it into a beautiful looking thing (he has the pictures) I already was starting to set up the scene with grass:

this truly was going to come out pretty damn good. Oh well, congrats to David's Team and Team FAU. David won first place, while FAU got an honorable mention. You can view the winners of the Evolve 2011 Here: http://www.evolve3d.net/forums/showthread.php?t=790
